Who We Are

Robert & Edwards is a small family run business that was started out in the late 1960s by Robert's father, Norman. When Norman retired Robert took over the day to day running of the business and oversaw a steady growth and expansion of our shops.

Encouraged by the demand for a local quality butchers shop he decided to grow the business whilst continuing to ensure that both quality and customer service was not diminished.

In early 2000 Robert recognised a need for quality outside catering for his existing customers and started to build up R.EDs Catering. Encouraged by the demand this part of the business swiftly grew and with the continued success of the shops Robert decided the time was right to go into partnership to ensure he could maintain the high levels of customer service and quality.

In mid 2005 Adam joined Robert and together they now work hard at both growing the business and providing a local quality business, building on the early foundations laid by Norman.

Our values are to provide quality products with great customer service. Robert and Adam hand pick all products sold from local sources, where possible, to both reduce food miles and support the local community and environment.

We only source free range and/or organic produce from reputable suppliers as, both having young families, believe this to be very important in a throw away convenience society where mass production seems to be the 'norm'.
